About FireHouse CrossFit
At FireHouse CrossFit, our official slogan is that we are “Building Community Through Fitness.” There is special emphasis on that concept of “community.” FireHouse is, and will always be, a FAMILY gym. You can expect to see lots of babies, kids and dogs here… they’re part of the family too! (And we have a kids area!). Furthermore, EVERYONE is welcome at FireHouse CrossFit, regardless of age, ability, athletic background, sexual orientation, country of origin, political leaning and shoe size. The magic of this place is the culture; proof that if we all just accept, listen, and love, the world would be a better place.
How Firehouse CrossFit started
The original idea for Firehouse CrossFit came from a series of conversations that happened between David and his good friend, John Richey. John, and his wife Tab, live outside of Dallas, Oregon. Between their home and Dave/Leslie’s lies Monmouth, Oregon. Over the years, driving by the old Monmouth fire station, the topic of opening a CrossFit box at the location came up dozens of times. We inquired about the availability of the building and were told that is wasn’t for sale. We resolved that if the building were ever to come available, we would go for it. Years passed. Conversations continued. In spring of 2017, we again inquired with the City of Monmouth about the building and found out that it was indeed for sale via sealed bid. We submitted our bid and won!!! 4 months later, FireHouse CrossFit opened it’s doors!
